Zebulon
Living in Zebulon, NC
Named for a governor, built by the railroad.
Zebulon grew up along the Raleigh and Pamlico Sound Railroad and was incorporated in 1907. Its brick downtown on Arendell Avenue still shows those railroad roots, and the town around it has nearly doubled in five years.
Who was Zebulon?
The town is named for Zebulon Baird Vance, North Carolina's Civil War governor and later a U.S. senator. So yes, it's a first name. No, nobody calls it "Zeb." Okay, some people do.
Zebulon sits at the eastern edge of Wake County, with Wendell to the west and the Johnston, Franklin and Nash county lines close by.
The town counted about 6,900 residents in 2020, and Census estimates put it near 11,900 by 2025. New neighborhoods, a renamed ballpark and new downtown businesses are arriving with that growth.
Whether you're buying, selling, renting, or handing us the keys to manage your investment, here's what to know before you call Zebulon home.
