Wendell
Living in Wendell, NC
Where Main Street meets what's next.
Wendell started as an eastern Wake County railroad and farm-trading town, and its historic Main Street still shows it. Today it's also home to one of the area's best-known master-planned communities, and it's growing fast.
Two sides of Wendell
There's historic downtown, with older homes, local shops and murals on the brick. And there's Wendell Falls, with new homes, trails and Treelight Square. Same town, two very different afternoons, and locals happily do both.
Wendell sits east of Raleigh in Wake County, with Knightdale to the west, Zebulon to the east, Rolesville to the north and Clayton to the south.
The town counted about 9,800 residents in 2020, and Census estimates put it near 19,700 by 2025. That's roughly double in five years, and new homes, businesses and jobs are arriving with it.
Whether you're buying, selling, renting, or handing us the keys to manage your investment, here's what to know before you call Wendell home.
